Okay the posion mat used on alice is a secret in his family. The soul comes out and goes in the vile, leaving the person dead. He can return their life back to the person but can take it back in a three day period if he wishes. And that goes on everytime he lets out the soul. He has three days after each time to decide if he wants them alive or not.
